Hide the tripod
Stop visitors looking down at the tripod or the person holding the camera
Set the lowest angle visitors can look in a scene, so the tripod, the selfie stick, or the camera operator under the lens stays off screen. Works on 360 photos and 360 video.

Here is how to keep the tripod, or you, out of the bottom of a scene. A 360 camera sees straight down, and straight down is where the tripod stands and where the person holding the selfie stick is. So I open the scene from my destination, and just under Edit scene there is a link called Hide people and gear. At the top is the viewer, and under it, Limit how far down visitors can look. I tick Limit the view in this scene. Now I look straight down in the viewer, and I drag Lowest view. Watch the viewer: it follows the slider, and the tripod slides off the bottom of the screen. I stop as soon as it is gone, and I select Save limit. Two things worth knowing. First, it allows for zoom. However far a visitor zooms out, the bottom edge of their screen never goes below that angle, and they can still turn all the way around and look up. Second, and this matters: it hides the view, not the photo. The whole image still reaches the visitor's browser. So use this for gear and for looks. If a person must not be seen at all, edit the photo itself. And if you change your mind, untick the box and save.
Steps
- Open the scene: /creator/destinations, click the destination, then click the scene's name. Select Hide people and gear, just under the Edit scene button. The same link is at the top of the scene editor.
- Tick Limit the view in this scene.
- Look straight down in the viewer at the top of the page, then drag Lowest view until the tripod, the selfie stick, or your own head is no longer on screen. The viewer follows the slider, so what you see is what visitors will see.
- Select Save limit. Visitors get the new limit the next time the tour loads.
- The limit allows for zoom: the bottom edge of the screen never goes below the angle you set. Visitors can still turn all the way around and look up.
- This hides the view, not the pixels. The full photo still reaches the visitor's browser, so do not rely on it to keep a person private. Use Edit the photo, further down the same page, for that.
- To take the limit off, untick Limit the view in this scene and select Save limit.
